Study Concepts approach to teaching has worked wonders for our daughter. Till fourth grade she was a good student getting mostly A’s but also some B’s in English and Math. After she joined the fifth grade course she got A’s in all English and Math quizzes/assignments till now. My daughter has been attending Study Concepts’ TJ preparation classes for the last 5 months, and she has found it to be extremely helpful. The classroom instruction is of a high order, and the material used is both comprehensive and rigorous. By requiring the students to work through a large number of problems on the same topic, it instills concepts and applied problem solving in the kids. Study Concepts’ management also takes personal interest in each child and seek out ways to provide other opportunities and feedback to them to enable them to develop their English and Math capabilities. They got my daughter to participate in a regional oratorical contest which gave her good exposure and confidence, and had an ex-TJ alumnus to talk and mentor the students, which was also very helpful. When preparing for the Math section of the TJ test, the teacher thoroughly explained all the main topics. He made sure to review every single mistake that we did.
For English, the teacher went over all the parts of scrambled paragraphs and gave helpful tips for reading comprehension.

This class was extremely helpful for the TJ test. For one, it helped me grow accustomed to the format of the test and get used to managing my time on it. I also learned some great tips on how to handle logical reasoning problems, which I couldn’t have passed the test without. Aside for the test, this class also helped me improve my general math. I also found the packets given during the essay lessons to be extremely useful for figuring out what kinds of things TJ is looking for in essays and SIS.
