Math competition programs provide students with opportunities to challenge themselves and achieve more in mathematics. The numerous creative problems promote critical-thinking, logical reasoning, analytical abilities and problem-solving skills.

Study Concepts Inc understands the critical need to engage students in enhanced math-related activities. Math related fun activities encourage positive attitudes about Mathematics. Increased exposure to mathematics can significantly increase achievement not only in mathematics but also in all academic areas. Sharper math skills pave the way for a secure future of students.

SCI Math Minds provides participating students with the following benefits:
• A chance to compete for scholarships and prizes.
• A sense of accomplishment that comes from setting and achieving goals.
• A challenging and fun activity that helps students in their math classes.
• An opportunity to meet students from other schools and a chance to share common interests with friends.

The competition is open to all students in Grades 1 through 7. Students from public, private, religious and home schools alike are eligible to participate. Each grade will have a separate competition, where students from that grade will only be competing with students in the same grade.

Grades 1 and 2 will only have a written round whereas grades 3 through 7 will have both written and oral rounds. In grades 1 and 2, the top four individuals are chosen on the basis of the written competition. In grades 3 through 7, the 8 finalists who are chosen in the written competition progress to the Oral rounds, where a series of on-stage one on one oral problems determine the top four individuals. The Top 8 students in each grade will be recognized for their achievements.

2017 marks the fourth year of holding the SCI Math Minds competition. We plan to offer this competition annually to keep brilliant minds engaged in academic activities that are designed to sharpen their skills and enhance their interest.
