PUBLIC SPEAKING

This course is aimed at preparing the students with focused instruction in the art of Public Speaking. Students will learn the principles of public speaking, body language, use of words, preparation and delivery.

Acquiring presentation skills help to build confidence, improve writing, reading and research skills. Students learn to consider alternatives and respect other’s opinions through discussion and debate and not simply arguing.

A key part of the program is Impromptu speaking – learning to speak extempore, without much preparation – a skill useful throughout our lives. Students learn to communicate at every level and with all age groups. They take away major attributes of patience and control. Logical argument development enhances a student’s reasoning and analytical abilities.

Students will also learn delivery of prepared speeches, with or without power point presentations and other visual aids, to maximize presentation effectiveness.

This is a five month program, meeting every other week, each session lasting 1 ½ hours.
